Chris Austin established her studio in Solana Beach in 2002 and is an up-and-coming glass artist. Each of her pieces features a unique design hand-cut and fired into a work of art both beautiful and functional.

Chris's work evokes the clean lines of the architecture from the 1950's and 1960's and clearly bows to her love of vintage clothes, ceramics and glass. Yet her pieces definitely veer into all-new territory as well. Chris has a natural eye for color and design and she has experimented with many mediums.

Prior to finding a newfound passion for creating her own designs in glass, Chris spent her time organizing, creating and selling special events for corporate and incentive meetings. As events grew more high tech and less “prop” oriented the passion for creating ambiance and theme with vibrant color and lighting grew with each event. Sewing her own clothes through her teen years and having a passion for all art growing up, glass seems a natural progression in the creative process.

Mid-Century design is classic and timeless and like all great design continues to fit in with your wardrobe and home décor year after year. We hope to continue to grow Kiwi Studios in this simple fashion.
